In a masterclass of deal-making that would make even Machiavelli raise an eyebrow, former President Donald Trump has managed to sway 53% of white women (per a Washington Post exit poll) into a mutual “Protection Pact”.

Trump first outlined these terms on September 25, 2024, at a rally in Indiana, Pennsylvania - a locale that seemed so fittingly on-brand, it was practically a MAGA-inspired theme park.

But Trump didn’t stop there. Like an infomercial promising “Wait, there’s more!” he sweetened the deal the next day, adding:
“I’ll ensure that every American woman looks sexier than all her friends.
All the men will definitely compliment you for getting slimmer when you think that you’ve lost weight and notice when you style your hair differently.
Men will no longer deride you when those of you still biologically useful go crazy once a month.
After I abolish the Department of Education, everyone will suck at math just as bad as you.
Finally, every woman will have at least one orgasm a day, guaranteed!”
Then, on November 1, 2024, Trump further enhanced his offering by affirming that his protection would apply even to women who did not want it. He noted that:
“I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not. I’m going to protect them. I’m going to protect them from migrants coming in. I’m going to protect them from foreign countries that want to hit it, hit us with missiles and lots of other things.”

As per the aforementioned poll, a respectable 38% of Latino women also took Trump up on his offer - no small feat given that the group lay at the intersection of the demographics that ought to have been repulsed by Trump’s history of chauvinism and misogyny and his fervent xenophobia and racism.

However, black women, who the exit poll initially indicated had spared Trump 7% of their vote, proved largely impervious to Trump’s tenacious unwelcome advances that ultimately succeeded in grabbing white and Latino women’s confidence.
